Oh what an Amazing Innaugural Juneteenth Celebration Picnic today at Von Mizel & Eula Johnson State Park. It was a perfect location recently renamed for two freedom workers that in the 60’s advocated for a beach in Ft Lauderdale, FL that Blacks could attend. Over 100 members and guests enjoyed delicious food, a wagon filled with Mangoes for all to take, music and games. It all culminated with Juneteenth presentation by Poet, Butterfly and Lawanda J., presenting the history of Juneteenth. Special thanks to Dee McCordochoa, President, Deloris Flowers, President Elect and Oscar Perry, Picnic Chair and an host of volunteers.
